Marion Ann Sahlmann
Marion Ann Sahlmann, age 78, passed away on May 29, 2008 in For Myers, FL. She was born on May 25, 1930 in Erie, the daughter of Morris H. and Marion E. Pulling Johnston.
Spending time between homes in Erie and Fort Myers, Marion was always very active with her family, friends, church, and community. She was a member of Church of the Cross in Erie and Westminster Presbyterian in Fort Myers. A most important part of her life was her family. She always made sure no tummies were left unfilled, no hands were left unheld, and no cheeks were left unkissed. Marion was a Godly woman whose shining smile and outgoing personality always lit up a room. Her constant positive attitude, loving spirit, and sense of humor - despite several illnesses - were an inspiration to many. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and true friend who will be missed by many.
Surviving are her husband of 57 years, Lou Sahlmann; five children: Leslie Finkbeiner and her husband, John; Matthew Sahlmann and his wife, Beth; Patty Venture and her husband, Ray; Nancy Tower and her husband, Chris; Kurt Sahlmann and his wife, Kathy; twelve grandchildren: Dustin Sahlmann, John J., Joshua, and Jeremy Finkbeiner, Jason Venture, Jennifer Gilroy, Angela Venture, Andrew Sahlmann, Daniel Tower, Amy Sahlmann, Gregory and Jonathon Tower; and six great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, William, and a sister, Nancy.
Friends will be received from 10:15 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 24, 2008 at Church of the Cross. Private interment. Memorial contributions may be made to Church of the Cross Building Fund, 5901 Millfair Road, Fairview, PA 16415.
