Obituary of Joan Sahovey

Joan Brogan Sahovey Joan Brogran Sahovey, age 74, of McKean Twp. died Thursday, April 17, 2008 at Hamot Medical Center after an extended illness. She was born in Summerville, PA on July 17, 1933, the daughter of the late Robert and Anna B. McAdoo Brogan. She lived in the Erie area most of her life. She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Roman Catholic Church. She served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Sahovey. She is survived by three daughters: Marcella Miller of Erie, Deborah Matta and son-in-law, Peter Piotrowski, of McKean, and Robyn Sahovey of Millcreek; three sisters: Barbara Mack of Millcreek, Pat Karkosky and her husband, Edward, of Pinehurst, TX, and Patti French and her husband, Dr. Kenneth French, of Brenham, TX. She is also survived by four grandchildren: Randy Matta, LeAnne Berchtold, Michelle Matta, and Christopher Sahovey; and five great grandchildren: Brandon, Bailee, Blaine, and twins Sean and Kailee. Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Road, on Sunday from 2 to 5 and are invited there on Monday for prayers at 12:30 p.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial, conducted by Msgr. Dan Arnold, to follow at Our Lady of Peace Roman Catholic Church at 1:00 p.m. Interment Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association, 209 East Beaver Avenue, State College, PA 16801 or to the John Kanzius Cancer Research Fund, Palace Business Centre, 915 State Street, Erie, PA 16501.
