Angelo V. Saraceno Angelo Saraceno, age 67, of Fairview, PA passed away surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, July 14, 2011 at St. Vincent Health Center after a brief illness. Upon entering heaven, he was reunited with his beloved mother and father, and the angel's choir rejoiced. Angelo was born in Erie on March 25, 1944. He received his Bachelor's and Master's degree in elementary and special education from Edinboro University. An excellent teacher, he devoted 32 years in the classroom of the Millcreek Twp. School District; teaching at Kearsarge, Ridgefield, Grandview, and Vernondale Schools. He was a patient and kind instructor. A talented and creative individual, Angelo was a master of many things: orchid and flower growing, gardening, landscaping, carpentry, entertaining, and interior design. He was an excellent chef and wowed his family and friends with many tempting dishes and desserts, but his superb spaghetti and meatballs was a family favorite. He enjoyed the arts, music, theater, collecting cookbooks, antiques, and traveling; especially to New York City where he and his partner saw over 100 Broadway Shows, to the Berkshires in western Mass. and Florida. He loved to sing and had a strong (sometimes loud) excellent voice. Angelo was pre-deceased by his mother and father, Viola (Serafini) and Joseph Saraceno, his paternal and maternal grandparents, and several aunts and uncles. He is survived by his partner of 38 years, Peter Rucinski, his brother, John (fiancé, Janet Gruber), brother, Joseph (Dawn), niece, Pamela Leone, and nephews: John, Brian, Anthony, Nathan, and Brandon Saraceno. Angelo was a caring, compassionate, gentle and kind individual. His dedication to his partner was beyond compare. Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Sunday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited there on Monday for prayers at 9:15 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Peter's Cathedral at 10:00 a.m. Interment Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Emmaus Soup Kitchen, 218 East 11th Street, Erie, PA 16507. Enhance your memorial with a slideshow and video
