Carol J. Sayers Carol J. Sayers, age 53, of McKean, died Tuesday, February 17, 2009 at her residence following an extended illness. She was born in Erie on April 4, 1955, the daughter of the late Russell and Ida Hartman, Sr. Carol was a 1973 graduate of Ft. LeBeouf High School. She first worked for the Erie County Health Department and then for Horton Pre-Cast prior to her retirement. She enjoyed traveling, reading, camping, hiking, and especially time with her family. Survivors include her husband of 34 years, Lester W. Sayers, two children, Jared M. Sayers and his wife, Katie, of McKean, Heidi R. Sayers of Millcreek and her fiancé, Kirk Daniels. Also surviving are one sister, Nancy Figurski of Erie, one grandson, Mason Sayers, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one brother, Russell Hartman, Jr. and one sister, Kaye Fetzner. Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited there on Saturday for the funeral service at 10:00 a.m. conducted by the Rev. Dan Owen. Interment Erie County Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to the John Kanzius Research Fund, Palace Business Center, 915 State St., Erie, PA 16501.
