Henry F. Bodamer, Jr.
Henry F. Bodamer, Jr., age 79, of Erie, died at his residence on Thursday, April 26, 2007. He was born in Erie on April 6, 1928, the son of the late Henry F. Bodamer, Sr. and Edna Morrison Bodamer. He was a sales engineer at Skinner Engine Co. for 48 years until his retirement in 2000. Hank was a graduate of Academy H.S. and served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of American Legion Post #773 and the Zukor Club. He served with Boys Baseball in Erie for 32 years, first as a coach and leaving the program as Vice President. He was also active in Boy Scouts of America, Team Erie, and First Night Erie. He enjoyed playing golf and playing cards. He was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and the New York Yankees.
Hank was a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church. He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Doris Brown Bodamer. Two sons, Henry Bodamer, III of Pittsburgh and Timothy Bodamer and his fiancé, Vivian, of FL, two granddaughters, Gretchen and Chelsea Bodamer survive him.
Visitation is private. Friends and family are invited to attend a Memorial Service conducted by the Rev. J. Kenneth Laber at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, 950 West 7th St., Erie, PA 16502 on Sunday, May 6 at 11:30 a.m. Interment Laurel Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Matthew's Lutheran Church or to the family in care of the funeral home. The Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home, Inc., is handling arrangements 4216 Sterrettania Rd.
