June Grames Schreiber


June Grames Schreiber, age 86, of Millcreek Twp. died Friday, September 10, 2010 at her residence surrounded by her family. She was born on July 2, 1924, the daughter of the late Madeline Bliley and Ralph Grames.


She was a Millcreek High School graduate. She was employed at G.E., Frost Greenhouse, and the Erie International Airport. She enjoyed bowling, being a Girl Scout leader at Tracy School, was an avid reader, enjoyed golf, and was a former President of the VFW Auxiliary Post 773 Millcreek. She was a life-long member of Westminster Presbyterian Church.


She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 64 years, Robert, in 2008 and two sisters, Christina Nissen and Louise Radtka. She is survived by two daughters: Nancy Gurga (Zig), of Erie, Nadine Davis (Bill), of Rutledge, TN, and one son, Gary Schreiber (Mary), of Erie, four grandchildren: Deanna Smith (Chuck), Stephen Gurga , Erica Mullins, Jason Mullins, and seven great-grandchildren: Thomas, Taylor, Dustin, Dylan, Erika, C.J, and Maverick. She is also survived by two sisters-in-law, Mary Jane Schreiber, Betty Green, and several nieces and nephews.


Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Monday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited there on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Stephen Morse presiding. Interment Laurel Hill Cemetery.


In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the John Kanzius Cancer Research Foundation, 1001 State St., Erie, PA 16501 or to Great Lakes Hospice, 1700 Peach St., Erie, PA 16501.
