Beth Ann Beckwith Shewan Beth Ann Beckwith Shewan, age 56, of Erie died Sunday, May 25, 2008 surrounded by her loving family after an extended illness. She was born in Erie on July 10, 1951, the daughter of the late Donald F. and Evelyn J. Herbert Beckwith. She took great pride in raising her seven daughters alone. She enjoyed decorating and was known for being thoughtful and always giving the most thoughtful gifts. She also enjoyed Erie history and also had a very special love for her dog, Zuke. She is survived by her daughters, Mary E. Shewan, Amy K. Shewan, Sarah L. Groves, Laura A. Shewan, Karen E. Beckwith, Catherine and Leeann Sypin, all of Erie; one sister, Karen Kindle, and her husband, Robert, of Erie; and grandchildren, Donald and Anthony Beckwith and Nicholas Gordon. Several nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by one infant grandson, Patrick Shewan. Arrangements are being handled by the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Road, Erie, PA. Private visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday. Interment Erie Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of the funeral home.
