Obituary of Yaroslava Shipka

Yaroslava A. Shipka Yaroslava A. Shipka, age 76, of Erie, passed away Monday, March 18, 2013 at her residence. She was born in Lviv-Brodu, Ukraine on September 19, 1936, daughter of the late Andrey and Proskovya KaraimKhmilyar. Yaroslava immigrated to the United States in 1997. While in the Ukraine, she worked as a bookkeeper. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, baking, flowers and singing in church. She was a member of the 1st Ukrainian Pentecostal Church. She was preceded in death by one sister, Mariya Shkraba and one grandson, Anatoly Fedchik. Survivors include her husband Teodor Shipka; four daughters, Olga Melnik (Aleksandr) and their children, Slavik, Juliya and Yana; Alesya Fedchik (Aleksandr) and their children, Andrey, Roman, Irina, Edward, Katya and Alexander; Nadia Derevyanchuk (Anatoliy); and Svetlana Gorban (Lyubomir) and their children, Andray, Dennis, Angelina and Esther; two sisters, MikhalinaVoytovich and Olga Pastushok. Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home, 4216 Sterrettania Road, on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m., and are invited to attend a Funeral Service there on Thursday, at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery.
