George P. Shoemaker George P. Shoemaker, age 88, formerly of Millcreek Twp., died Monday, May 30, 3011 at Fairview Manor. He was born in West Newton, PA on September 19, 1922, the son of the late, George E. and Agness Peebles Shoemaker. He served in the US Army during WWII and received numerous medals. He was employed at and retired from Erie Strayer Co. after 29 years. He was a member of Millcreek Community Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and crafts. He was preceded in death by his wife, Beatrice V. Shoemaker in 2006, one daughter, Carolyn Kutz, two sisters, Lenore and Gladys Dainty, four brothers: James F. Burke, Ray, Donald, and Bernie Shoemaker. George is survived by his children: Walter Bartlett (Sandy), George Shoemaker (Sharon), Richard Shoemaker (Laurie), Karen Orr (Dave Yeaney), James Shoemaker (Cathy), one sister, Faye Brinkley, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Friday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services and Laurel Hill interment will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to Millcreek Community Church, 4444 Sterrettania Rd., Erie, PA 16506. Enhance your memorial with a slideshow and video
