John P. Simpson
John P. Simpson, age 59, of McKean Twp. passed away on Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at his residence after an extended illness. He was born in Canonsburg, PA on August 18, 1952, the son of the late Donald and Regina Merkel Simpson.
He served in the US Army during the Vietnam Era. He worked many years at Lakeview Country Club and Gospel Hill Golf Course. Most recently, he was employed with Underground Sprinkler's, Inc. He enjoyed Grand Prix and NASCAR racing, photography, art projects, was a Pittsburgh sports fan (every team), and especially he loved his country.
John is survived by his wife, Nancy M. Harris Simpson, mother-in-law, Della Harris, step-brother, Randall Swartzfager (Gerri), step-sister, Karen Williamson (Ken), brothers and sisters-in-law, Mark and Judy Rodemoyer, Tom Harris and Cathy, Rob and Amy Harris, Cindy Harris, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Dave Harris, father-in-law, Thomas K. Harris, step-mother, Marilyn Swartzfager Simpson.
Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited there on Monday for a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Interment Laurel Hill Cemetery.
