George Allen Skitka
George Allen Skitka, age 55, of Millcreek Twp. passed away suddenly on Saturday, July 7, 2007 at his residence. He was born in Erie, PA on August 4, 1951, the son of George and Ruth E. Pardee Skitka.
He had been employed as a Facilities Engineer at Hamot Medical Center for over twenty-five years. George was a 1969 graduate of McDowell High School and Erie County Vo - Tech. He enjoyed photography, skeet shooting, and repairing family and friend's computers.
Besides his parents, George is survived by his daughter, Stacie Hesterberg (Erv) of Des Moines, IA, one son, Andrew Skitka (Chrissie) of Phoenix, AZ, one sister, Jill Hunt (Bruce) of Waterford; two brothers: Eric Skitka (Shindeok) of Columbus, GA, and Shawn Skitka (Cynde) of Corry, PA; two grandchildren, Mathias and Kayla Hesterberg, and one sister-in-law, Candy Skitka, of Millcreek. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. One brother, Daniel Skitka, preceded George in death.
Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Tuesday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited there on Wednesday for the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Interment Laurel Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Erie County Diabetes Association, 1128 State St., Suite 302, Erie, PA 16501 or the American Heart Association, 823 Filmore Ave, Erie, PA 16505.
