Kenneth L. Smith
Kenneth L. Smith, age 82, of Summit Twp. died Tuesday, February 24, 2009 at Abington Crest Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was born on August 7, 1926 in Homestead, PA, the son of the late, John and Mary Smith.
He was an Erie area resident for most of his life. He was employed by the U.S. Postal Service as a postal mail carrier until his retirement. He enjoyed sailing, woodworking, and playing cards.
Ken is survived by his wife, Diane M. Parshall Smith, three daughters: Peggy Hersey of Summit Twp., Tina Langer (David) of Harborcreek, Victoria Pitzer (John) of Millcreek, many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is also survived by his step-children: Kenneth Lavery (Diane) of Erie, Dale Lavery (Angela) of Erie, Brenda Moeler (Michael) of Erie, and Patrick Lavery of Traveler's Rest Stop, SC.
Private service and interment under the care of Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 4216 Sterrettania Rd. Memorial contributions may be made to the Erie Humane Society, 2707 Interchange Rd., Erie, PA 16506.
