George W. Bosner
George W. Bosner, age 90, of Millcreek Twp., passed away on Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at Westlake Woods Assisted Living Community. He was born in Erie on May 17, 1922, the son of the late, Anton and Kathryn Hoffman Bosner.
A life-long Erie resident, he was an active member of Holy Rosary R.C. Church. He worked as a machinist for Erie Forge and Steel for 39 years until his retirement in 1981. He served in the US Army during World War II. He enjoyed his membership at the Siebenbuerger Club. As a devoted husband and father, he was always supportive and proud of his children and grandchildren's accomplishments. Our fondest memories include family card games and picking raspberries in his backyard.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Shirley M. (Smith) Bosner in 2008, one granddaughter, Allison M. Bosner, and three sisters: Lenora Stevens, Mary McKinney, Margaret Katlic, and one brother, John Bosner.
He is survived by his children and their spouses: Gregory A. Bosner (Sylvia), Judith Marsteller (Timothy), Deborah Miaczynski (Frederick), and Christopher A. Bosner (Judith). He is also survived by nine grandchildren: Jennifer Lyons, Dr. Douglas Bosner, Courtney Marsteller, Ashley Marsteller, Tenley Marsteller, Emily Rafferty, Dr. Julie Miaczynski, Carolyn Miaczynski, and Kathryn Bosner, and four great-grandchildren: Noah and Amelia Lyons, Quinlan Bosner and Dylan Rafferty.
