Obituary of Donald Sornberger

Donald "Don" A. Sornberger Donald "Don" Sornberger, age 62, of Erie, died at his residence after an extended illness on Tuesday, October 4, 2011 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on September 3, 1949, the son of the late, Roy and Mildred Ensign Sornberger. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He was employed at Riley Stoker and retired from Trumbull Industries. He enjoyed bowling, bingo, the Cleveland Browns and Indians. Don is survived by his wife, Donna M. Yacobozzi Sornberger, his children: Karen Ciecierski (Tony) of OH, Albert Lombardi (Jess) of Alaska, Cindy Griffin (Darnell) of SC, Donald, Jr. and Billy Sornberger, Nicki and Nicole all of Erie. Also surviving are many grandchildren, two brothers; Eddie Sornberger (Ellen) and Rick Sornberger (Sheryl), one sister, Jan Myers (Dennie) and, many nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the, Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Sunday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited there on Monday for the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. conducted by the Rev. Harry Johns. Interment with full military honors at Laurel Hill Cemetery. A special thank you to Dee and Damian John Siggia, Afton Barnett, and Eddie Sornberger.
