Marguerite A. "Fafa" Spaeder
Marguerite A. "Fafa" (McQuillan) Spaeder, age 94, of Millcreek Twp., passed away on Wednesday, November 21, 2012 surrounded by her loving family at her Millcreek lakefront residence. She was born in Jackson, MI, the daughter of the late Joe Mundus and Marguerite Andrews Mundus.
She was the beloved wife of the late, Robert N. Spaeder, and the loving mother of R. Nicholas (Nancy) Spaeder of Columbia, Missouri, Linda Muldoon of Erie, Mary (Harold) Rinn of Millcreek, and Joseph (Sharon Gorman) Spaeder of Homer, Alaska. She was the cherished grandmother of: Joshua (Dawn) Spaeder, Noah (Cassidy) Spaeder, David Montroy, Marguerite "Margo" Rinn, Kaitlyn (Nathan Abt) Rinn, Nicholas Rinn, Johanna Spaeder, Isaiah "Tom" Gorman, great grandmother of: Lucas, Elijah, and Zane Spaeder, sister to Joan Wildermann of San Jose, CA and Bil Mundus of Ann Arbor, MI, several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Alice Conlin.
Marguerite had a lifelong dedication to education. She was particularly fond of Bayfront Maritime Center transformative work with Erie's youth, both on water sailing and in the boat shop. Her latest passion was playing "Words with Friends" and reading on her i Pad.
Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited there on Monday at 10:15 a.m. for prayers followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. John the Baptist R.C. Church, 509 East 26th Street, Erie, at 11:00 a.m. conducted by the Rev. Mark Nowak. Private inurnment.
The family would like to thank the outstanding care provided by the Aserta Care Hospice team and Rhoda.
