Laverna F. Helmbrecht-Steiner Laverna F. Helmbrecht-Steiner, age 88, of Millcreek Twp., went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at UPMC - Hamot after a brief illness. She was born in North Girard, PA on February 14, 1924, the daughter of the late Frank A. and Georgia Mae (Mamie) Gasch Helmbrect. She was a member of Grace Church. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Kenneth C. Steiner, three children: David A. Steiner of Millcreek, Darlene E. Haring (Ron) of Plano, IL, Kenneth L. Steiner (Sandy) of Nottingham, PA, one sister, Elaine Merritt of Las Vegas, NV, one brother, Robert Helmbrecht (Carol) of West Springfield, PA, four grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Wednesday from 4 to 8:00 p.m. and Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service there at 11:00 a.m. conducted by the Rev. Al Detter. Interment Laurel Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of the funeral home to help cover funeral expenses.
