John C. Szczesny
John C. "Pops" Szczesny, age 76, of Millcreek Twp., passed away Sunday, January 13, 2013 at Erie Presbyterian Lodge. He was born in Erie on March 3, 1936, the son of the late, Bernice (Mary) and Hank August. He was employed at Pops Auto Repair and Sports Cars Unlimited. He enjoyed golf and NASCAR.
He is survived by his wife, Meleana L. Fisher Szczesny, his children: Monica Donofrio, Margo Cerami, Monte Bizzarro, Dan, Jeremy and Daryl J. Szczesny, sisters: Mary Ellen Kwitowski, Yvonne Thomas, Frances August, Stephanie Emerick, Helen Sorensen, one brother, Joseph Szczesny, fifteen grandchildren, four great- grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one sister, Henrietta Evans, and one son, John Szczesny, Jr.
Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until time of Memorial Service there at 11:00 a.m. Private interment Laurel Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Regional Cancer Center, 2500 West 12th Street, Erie, PA 16505.
