James J. Brandt James Joseph Brandt, age 49, was sent to heaven on January 28, 2012. He was born in Erie on July 7, 1962, the son of Marnita Brandt Johnson, the late James Brandt, and step-son of the late Marshall Johnson. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Mary Johnson. He was a member of Grace Church where he volunteered and sang in the Karis ensemble, and was very strong in his faith. He loved sports, especially baseball, golf, and football, with a special love for the Steelers. He enjoyed cooking and experimenting with different ingredients. In addition to his mother, Marnita, he is survived by his wife, Christie Schell Brandt, twins, Jude Michael and Isaiah John, daughter, Alison Birk, grandchildren, Damien and Lorelei, brothers, Mark Brandt (Jennifer) of Kansas, Michael Johnson, of Erie, and sister, Donna (Agustin), of Puerto Rico, and his in-laws, Rev. Bob and Shirley Schell. He is also survived by sixteen nieces and nephews, two grandnieces, many aunts, uncles, and cousins. No calling hours will be observed. A memorial service will be held at Grace Church, 7300 Grubb Road, McKean on Wednesday, February 1 at 1:00 p.m. Arrangements were handled by the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd.
