Jo Terwilliger
Jo Terwilliger, age 84, passed away Thursday January 6, 2011 at Saint Vincent Health Center. Born in West Monterey, PA to Fred and Jean McCall, Jo moved to Millcreek with her husband, Henry, in 1947.
A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Jo loved spending time with her family. She particularly enjoyed gathering relatives at her home for birthdays, holidays, and Sundays. Jo had a variety of interesting jobs during her life which included working at a soda fountain and teaching in a one room school house, but her real passion was owning her own drapery business. She was able to raise her family and demonstrate excellent work ethics to them. She was a longtime member of Westminster Presbyterian Church where she was actively involved in teaching Sunday school, women's circle, served as a session member, and volunteered wherever she was needed.
She is survived by her sisters, Katherine Croyle and Opal Roark; two sons, Gary Terwilliger (Darlene), Hank Terwilliger (Renee); her four daughters: Carolyn Huzinec (Dennis), Paula Lucas (Steve), Sandy Robertson (Scott), and Trudy Carter (Chris); 13 grandchildren: Josie Gildow (Nick), Cam Terwilliger, Dr. Sarah Carter, Elliot Robertson, Holly Lucas, Ally Soltesz (Steven), Emily Robertson, Dan Carter, Noelle Lewis (Ben), Carolyn "Foo" Carter, Ben Terwilliger, Dave Terwilliger, and Andy Terwilliger; and one great-granddaughter, Arianna Lewis.
Jo was preceded in death by her husband Henry Terwilliger Sr., parents, Fred and Jean McCall; her brother, Alexander McCall, and her sister, Elsetta Taylor.
