Please share a memory of Ruth to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Ruth (Webster) Tousey On Friday, April 5, 2013, Ruth (Webster) Tousey left her earthly home to be reunited with many loved ones in her long-awaited heavenly home. She was finally able to meet and hold her two infant daughters who died at birth. Ruth Idell was born January 13, 1925 to Ralph and Flossy (Nick) Webster. She was preceded in death by her four siblings: Beulah, Raymond, Clara, and Wilbur. She married Paul Robert Tousey, October 7, 1943. Together they provided a loving home for their six daughters: Karen (Alan) Buhr, of Lockport, NY, Barbara (Late Conrad) Eisert, of Erie, Kristy (Dan) Aranda, of Cleveland, TX, Paula Panty, of Titusville, PA, Penny (Kelvin) Klass, of Guys Mills, PA, and Bonnie (Wayne) Terrill, of Kenosha, WI. Ruth's beloved "Paul Doll" died December 28, 1987. Family was a main focus of Ruth's life. She always provided unconditional love and acceptance to her children, twenty-two grandchildren, and sixteen great-grandchildren, many of which called and visited regularly up until her final days. Last August all but seven members of her extended family traveled to Erie for a wonderful reunion. It was a special occasion for all who came, especially seeing the joy on Ruth's face with so many of her precious family all in one place. Mom, Grandma, Grammie, and G-Ma will be greatly missed by them all. She left a "hole" that no one else can ever fill! Throughout her life, Ruth was involved in activities that benefited and supported her husband and family. When her children were young, she was a Girl Scout leader and involved in the school's PTA. She was active for over 50 years in the West Ridge Ladies' Auxiliary which supported and raised funds for the West Ridge Hose Company, where Paul was, also a longtime member. When Paul dressed up as Dandy the Clown and made balloon animals, Ruth, dressed as Jingles, was often by his side helping him. Ruth graduated in 1942 from Academy High School and was a lifelong member of Glenwood United Methodist Church. Throughout her life she touched people with her positive attitude and encouraging spirit. Among those were her sister-in-law, Barb Tousey, and special friend, Karen Noce. Ruth will be missed by so many! Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited there on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. for the funeral service conducted by Pastor Dan Aranda. Interment Erie County Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to the West Ridge Auxiliary, 3142 West Ridge Rd., Erie, PA 16506. Enhance your memorial with a slideshow and video
