Helen J. Plonski Twargoski
Helen J. Plonski Twargoski, age 89, formerly of Townhall Rd. in Summit Twp., passed away on Monday, June 25, 2012, at St. Mary's at Asbury Ridge. She was born in Erie on April 17, 1923, the daughter of the late, John and Anna Wasieleska Plonski.
Helen was hard-working and provided for her children and grandchildren. She loved cooking, baking in the Polish tradition which she passed down to her family, shopping, square dancing, and playing cards. Helen made friends easily and her wit and sincerity were shared with all of St. Mary's staff.
Helen was employed at Elgin Electronics, was a former member of St. Matthews in the Woods R.C. Church, and currently was a member of Our Lady of Peace R.C. Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John J. Twargoski and one son, John R. Twargoski.
She is survived by two daughters; JoAnne McCall, of Millcreek, and Barbara McClellan (Jim) of Waterford, eight grandchildren: Brian McCall (Denise), Gregory McCall, Scott McClellan (Eve), Lori Kieklak (Bill), Shari Langlois (Paul), Jeffrey, Paul, and Michelle Twargoski, ten great-grandchildren: Ashley, Corey, Abby, and Kayley McCall, Karlee Kieklak, Brent and Allyssia McClellan, Julia, Allison and Matthew Langlois, one great- great- granddaughter, Madelyn McClellan.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at St. Mary's at Asbury Ridge for their excellent care and a special thanks to Dina Mason who provided special care and support to Helen.
Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Wednesday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited there on Thursday for prayers at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Peace R.C. Church at 10:00 a.m. Interment Calvary Cemetery.
