Obituary of Dorothy Vicks

Dorothy A. Zipperle Vicks Dorothy A. Vicks, age 85, of Millcreek Twp., passed away on Thursday, November 15, 2012, at her residence. She was born in Erie on January 12, 1927, the daughter of the late, Max and Irene Bolkey Zipperle. She was a 1945 graduate of Academy H.S. Dorothy was employed at GTE and then worked at the Home Owned Food Stores where she met her future husband, Albert P.Vicks. She was active in the Erie Philharmonic, bowled at the Erie Maennerchor Club as an auxiliary member, was a member of the Aviation, Erie, and Kahkwa Clubs, and a member of St. Julia R.C. Church. She enjoyed gardening, animals, and decorating. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Albert P. Vicks, in 2001. She is survived by her daughter, Kathryn A. "Kathy" Kuklinski and her husband, Lawrence M. Kuklinski, M.D., of Millcreek Twp., one grandson, Paul L. Kuklinski, of Erie, one sister, Carol M. Bloomstine, and her husband, William, of Erie, one sister-in-law, Victoria DeCoursey, and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Sunday from 4 until 8 P.M. and are invited there on Monday at 10:15 A.M. for a prayer service followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Julia R.C. Church, 638 Roslyn Ave., Erie, PA 16505, at 11:00 A.M., presided by Msgr. Bruce Allison. Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
