Norma C. Sopp Waller
Norma C. Waller, age 85, of Millcreek Twp., died Saturday, October 30, 2010 at Pleasant Ridge Manor West after a lengthy illness. She was born on January 5, 1925 in Erie, the daughter of the late, August and Marie Ohmer Sopp.
She was retired as a nutritionist at Mercyhurst College and she helped run the family business, Perry Beauty and Barber Supply. She was a founding member of Our Lady of Peace R.C. Church. She enjoyed ceramics and her card clubs. Norma was a loving mother and grandmother and enjoyed her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry F. Waller in 1984, one sister, Mildred Preteroti, and one brother, Howard Sopp. She is survived by eight children: Linda Biggs (Rick) of Riverside, CA, Henry "Rick" Waller (Sun) of University Pl. WA, and his former wife, Kathy, of Millcreek, Joanne Waller of Brandenburg, KY, Christine Covatto (Donald) of Millcreek, David Waller (Sherry) of Cranesville, Janet Etter (Greg) of Lake City, Bill Waller (Becky) of Erie, and Bob Waller (Sarah) of East Springfield. Also surviving are one sister, Nancy Gehring, one brother, Ray Sopp, eighteen grandchildren: Elizabeth Urosevic, Jacob Biggs, Jennifer Waller, Arum Kim, Brian Waller, James Kuhn, Carolyn Dodge, Marie Scutella, K. Nick Etter, Brandon Etter, Lindsea Waller, Jason Waller, Robert Waller, Henry Waller, Lillianne Waller, Charles Waller, William Waller, August Waller, and nine great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Monday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited there on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. for the funeral service. Interment Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of the funeral home.
