Obituary of Felix Wedzik

Felix J. Wedzik Felix J. (Phil) Wedzik, age 75, of Millcreek Twp., died Sunday, January 3, 2010 at his residence after an extended illness. He was born in Erie on July 14, 1934, the son of the late Felix and Clara Larson Wedzik. He served in the US Army during the Korean War. Felix was a graduate of East H.S. He enjoyed boxing and playing football while serving in the army. He worked in the copper mines, owned a grocery store and was a maintenance man after returning from the copper mines. He was a member of VFW Post 470 and the American Legion Post 473. He enjoyed golf, playing cards, cooking and played in the Save-An-Eye Football game during his years at East. He is survived by his wife, Marian Krauchen Wedzik, one daughter, Roxane Vasquez of Sierra Vista, AZ, one son, Felix Wedzik III, of Phoenix, AZ, a step daughter, Lydia D'Albora of Erie, three grandchildren: Lisa, Kristen, Adam, one great grandchild, Jayden, two sisters; Catherine A. Shenk (Edward) and Madeline Hindman, both of Erie, one uncle, Roy Larson, of Erie, two nephews: Jeff Hindman, David Shenk, and many other nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother, William T. Wedzik. Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Tuesday from 3 to 7 p.m. and are invited there on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. for the funeral service conducted by Chaplain Sonny Concepcion.
