Obituary of Lawrence Windsor

Lawrence C. Windsor Lawrence "Larry" C. Windsor, age 78, died Thursday, December 22, 2011 following a lengthy illness. He was born on December 31, 1932 in Port Alleghany, PA. Larry graduated from Academy High School, and retired from GTE in Erie. Larry enjoyed square dancing, camping, country western music, Suduko puzzles, and playing the lottery. He was a member of the Siebenbuerger Club, the Elks, and Moose Lodge. He was preceded in death by his parents, Louella and Gordon Windsor, his first wife of 25 years, Arlene (Orris), his sister, Carol Keough, and his step-daughter, Susan Martin. He is survived by his second wife of 31 years, Rita (Christ) Windsor, three children: Jan (Paul) Antolik of Girard, Carole Meyer of Erie, and John (Kim) Windsor, of San Marcos, CA, three step-children: Mark Christ, Kathy (Jake) Christ, and Beth (Chuck) Hancox, a son-in-law, Paul Martin, eight grandchildren: Heather (Scott) Varish of New Orleans, LA, Kimberly Stoops of Erie, Eric Hull of Cleveland, Shane Windsor of Houston, TX, Cory Windor of San Diego, CA, Jessica and Justin Pittsenburger, and Katie Burkholtz; two great-grandchildren, Ethan Stoops and Zakia Eberhardt, two nieces; Shawn Keough-Hartz and Karen Steinman, and dear friends, Mark and Marlene Scholtz and Diane Tubbs. There will be a celebration of the life of Larry Windsor on Sunday, January 22, 2012 at the Elk's Lodge #67, 2409 Peninsula Drive, Erie, PA from 4 - 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asked that donations be made to the Erie City Mission, 1023 French Street, Erie, PA 16501 or to the John Kanzius Cancer Research Memorial Fund, 130 West 8th Street, Suite 216, Erie, PA 16501.
