Obituary of Harriet Wittenburg

Harriet J. Willis Wittenburg Harriet J. Willis Wittenburg, age 91, of Millcreek Twp. died Monday, July 7, 2008 at Hamot Medical Center after a brief illness. She was born on March 3, 1917. She was a graduate of Millcreek High School. She was an elder and deacon at Westminster Presbyterian Church, the president of Montclair's PTA, an active member of the Garden Club, and a member of the West Ridge Fire Department Auxiliary. She enjoyed knitting, camping, and birds. She is survived by her husband of seventy years, Harold W. Wittenburg; three daughters, Evelyn Ostergard and her husband, Doug, of Franklin, PA, Barbara Maasz and her husband, William, of Erie, and Shirley Williamson of Millcreek Twp.; nine grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Samuel and Theodore Willis. Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Road, Erie, PA on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and are invited to the funeral service at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 3642 West 26th Street, Erie, PA on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. conducted by Pastor John Earthein. Interment Laurel Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Westminster Presbyterian Church, 3642 West 26th Street, Erie, PA 16506.
