Harold Wittenburg Harold W. "Witt" Wittenburg, age 92, of Millcreek Twp., died Friday, May 8, 2009, at Manchester Presbyterian Lodge. He was born in Erie on March 13, 1917, the son of the late, William and Margaret Welsh Wittenburg. He was a life-long Erie resident. He began his career at the Erie City Iron Works in 1936 and ended as Vice President of land pollution for Zurn Industries until his retirement in 1980. He was an elder for Westminster Presbyterian Church and was chief at West Ridge Fire Dept. He was a member of the Sportsmen's Club and East Erie Turners. He enjoyed camping, traveling in his RV, and staining glass. He was preceded in death by his wife, Harriet Willis Wittenburg, who died in 2008. He is survived by three daughters: Evelyn W. Hostergard (Douglas) of Franklin, Barbara J. Maasz (William) of Erie, and Shirley L. Keinath (Gilbert) of Millcreek. Also surviving are nine grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, and five great-great- grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one sister, Evelyn Wittenburg. Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Monday from 4 until 7 p.m. and are invited to the funeral service on Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at Westminster Presbyterian Church.
