Obituary of Virginia DeDad

Virginia Mae Striegel DeDad, age 86, of Erie, passed away peacefully on September 8, 2013 at St. Mary's -East surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Erie on July 25, 1927, the daughter of the late Edward L. and Leona R. Sauers Striegel. She attended Academy H.S. and held several positions at various companies before and after raising her family of nine children. She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis L. DeDad and one brother, Richard E. Striegel. She is survived by her sister, Joann E. Masi, nine children: Jessica Commons (Keith) of Vancouver, B.C., Mary Lynne DeDad (Betty) of Cape Coral, FL, Christine Starr (Allen) of Fairview Twp., Lou Ann Kosiorek (David) of Millcreek Twp., Deborah Damore (Paul) of Millcreek Twp., Karen Wesmiller (David) of Millcreek Twp., Kevin DeDad (Angela) of South Hill, VA, Sharon Klein (Scott) of Sarasota, FL, Michele Florez (Tony) of LA, CA, sixteen grandchildren: Carrie, Rob, Allen, Ryan, Laura, Melanie, Amanda, Rachal, Jessica, Matthew, Kevin, Jennifer, Haley, Ava, Benjamin, and Shane, and one great-grandson, Jackson. Virginia enjoyed spending time with her family, friends, and her beloved cat, Chloe. Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Wednesday from 6 until 9 p.m. Private interment Laurel Hill Cemetery.
