Obituary of Stanley Freeland

Stanley E. Freeland, age 86, of Millcreek Twp, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 12, 2013 at his residence surrounded by his loving family after an extended illness. He was born in Newport, PA on May 20, 1927, the son of the late, David F. and Helen Stroup Freeland. He served in the US Navy during WWII. He was employed at Curtis Industries. Stan was a member of American Legion Post 773 and Lakewood United Methodist Church. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Goetz Freeland, in 2011, one son, Bruce Freeland, one brother, Gerald Freeland, and one granddaughter, Kelly Dever. He is survived by three daughters: Claudia A. Lampman (John) of Linesville, Julie R. King of Corry, Laurie J. McKelvey (Winston) of East Springfield, three sons: Stanley P. Freeland (Debbie) of Platea, Garth F. Freeland (Tammie) of West Springfield, Brad A. Freeland (Debbie) of Millcreek Twp., 16 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, one brother, David Freeland (Mickey) of Toms River, NJ, and one niece. Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd., on Saturday from 5 until 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Regional Home Health and Hospice, 3526 Peach Street, Erie, PA 16508 or to Lakewood United Methodist Church, 3856 West 10th Street, Erie, PA 16505
