Obituary of Judith Covatto

Judith "Judy" L. Rosenzweig Covatto, passed away on Thursday, September 19, 2013 at UPMC-Hamot after a courageous battle with breast cancer. She was born on September 5, 1950 in Massillon, OH, the daughter of the late, Edwin B. and Charlotte Boehm Rosenzweig. She was a 1968 graduate of Academy H.S. and Stephens College in Columbia, MO; attaining a Bachelor of Science Degree in Health Information. Judy was manager of Health Information and Patient Access at Shriners' Hospital for Children in Erie since 2002. She had previously been employed in Medical Records at Select Specialty Hospital and at Millcreek Community Hospital. She enjoyed sewing and was very skilled using her elaborate embroidery machine. Judy is survived by her husband and best friend of the past 41 years, Merchey Covatto, one daughter; Ann Marie Pirnat (Kyle) of Houston, TX, one son, Jeff Covatto (Brooklyn), of Marcus, IA, and her adored grandchildren: Andrew, Beau, Charlotte, and Elena Pirnat. She is further survived by her brothers; John Anderson (Marilyn) of Erie and J. Todd Anderson (Pat) of Cleveland, OH, and her sister and best buddy, Janet Knepper (Don) of Millcreek Twp. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2013 at Church of the Cross, 5901 Millfair Rd., Fairview, PA at 11:00 a.m. Private interment. Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc., 2600 Network Blvd., Suite 300, Frisco, TX 75034 or to the Shriners Hospitals for Children, 1645 West 8th Street, Erie, PA 16505.
