Obituary of Elaine Martin

Elaine Talbert Martin, age 89, of Millcreek Twp. passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 24, 2013 at her residence. She was with her family and her cat Bella when God called her to eternal rest. She was born in Erie on March 10, 1924, the daughter of the late Adolph R. and Marie Miller Talbert. Elaine graduated from Millcreek High School and was employed at GTE and later at Halle's Department Store. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday school, sang in the choir, and participated in the LCW. She enjoyed playing bridge, reading, and taking theatre trips to New York City with the Erie Playhouse. More recently, she enjoyed movie day once a week with her dear friend, Helen Trageser. Elaine was preceded in death by her husband Charles in 2009. She is survived by three sons: Dr. David C. Martin (Barbara) of St. Paul, MN, John E. "Jack" Martin (Karen) of Millcreek Twp., and Robert J. "Bob" Martin of Erie; three grandsons she adored: Michael C. Martin (Amanda) of St. Paul, MN, Alexander J. "Alex" Martin (Rachelle) of Cary, NC, Andrew C. Martin of Pittsburgh, and one great-granddaughter, Sylvia Joanne Martin, of St. Paul MN. Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd., on Friday, Nov. 29, 2013 from 2-5 P.M. and 7-9 P.M. and are invited to St. Paul's Lutheran Church on Saturday at 10 A.M. for the funeral service conducted by the Rev.
