Obituary of Patricia Shewan

Patricia A. (Abbott) Shewan died Friday, December 20, 2013 in Warrenton, VA. She was born on January 29, 1949 in Erie, a daughter of the late, Willard and Millicent Abbott. Pat retired from the Millcreek Twp. School District in 2011 after 30 years of service. During her retirement she enjoyed the waters of Lake Erie and was a member of the Commodore Perry Yacht Club; but her favorite pass time was being with her family. She was preceded in death by her high school sweet heart and husband of 41 years, Richard "Dick" Shewan; and a brother Carl Abbott. Survivors include two daughters; Tammie Kimmy (Jim) of Waterford, PA and Michelle Hermsdorf (Jim) of Warrenton, VA, two sisters; Judy Hauser (John) and Dolly Abbott-Traut of Erie, three sisters-in-law: Debbie Abbott of Palmetto, FL, Judy Vogel (Dennis) of MT, Gerry Woomer of Girard, one brother-in-law, Tom Shewan (Ivette) of Marysville, OH, four grandchildren: Amber and Jeff Hartstein, Paula and Allen Hermsdorf, two great-grandchildren; Lily Hartstein and Thomas Clauser, IV, her in-laws, Gerald and Adeline Shewan, and nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Monday, December 30th at 9 a.m. with a Memorial Service at 10 a.m. at St. Paul's Roman Catholic Church, 1617 Walnut Street, Erie 16502.
