Obituary of Thomas Granahan

Thomas K. Granahan, age 93, of Erie, passed away on Saturday, January 4, 2014 at Fairview Manor. He was born in Erie, the son of Frank and Henrietta Granahan. He was a 1939 graduate of Academy High School and a U.S. Air Force Veteran of WW II. He was a retired U.S. Postal Carrier. Thomas enjoyed hockey, ice skating, roller skating, hunting, and swimming at the YMCA. He was an avid coin collector. He was preceded in death by two brothers; James and Donald Granahan. He is survived by his wife of sixty-eight years, Geraldine P. Sturgeon Granahan ; also two daughters; Judith Chernek of Fairview, Linda Luthringer (Dale) of Fairview, two sons; Thomas G. Granahan (Nancy) of Millcreek, Gerald Granahan (Sun Min) of Fairview, ten grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. In addition, he has two surviving sisters; Winifred Southworth and Betty Fedora of Erie, two brothers; John Granahan (Kay) of Erie, Louis Farrington, and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Saturday from 1 until 4:00 p.m. Private interment Laurel Hill Cemetery.
