Obituary of Franklin Miller

Franklin Robert "Frank" Miller, age 76, of Millcreek Twp., left to be with our Lord on Monday, January 27, 2014 surrounded by his loving family. Frank was born in Toledo, Ohio the son of the late, Aubry Miller and Thelma Nelson Carr. He joined the U.S. Navy right out of high school and sailed the world on the USS Taconic. Frank was an expert diver and served as a "Frogman" (now known as a Navy Seal). He was a proud member of Sheet Metal Workers #12. He created his own company, Try Modern Roofing, in Jamestown, NY. Frank was a foreman with Rabe Erie and Scobell Inc. An avid hunter, gardener; he specialized in building precious wood cabinets, stained glass, and anything that involved working with his creative hands. There was nothing he couldn't mend or fix. He was a die-hard Buffalo Bills fan. He was preceded in death by two wives; Mary Baire and Sylvia Calabrese, a grandson, Robby Kindle, and a brother, Jerry Miller. He is survived by his wife, Gae Anderson-Miller, three daughters: Debra Miller (Alex), Pam Miller, Barbara Miller, and a step-daughter, Leeanna Golembiewski. His surviving grandchildren are: Douglas Kindle, George Betancourt, Marianne Betancourt, Amber Shaffer (Matt Horn), Danny Miller, Toby Shaffer, and Jack Shaffer. His loving great-grandchildren are: Robert Betancourt, Nicholas Betancourt, Atavia Florez, Chloe Dunn, Hayden Betancourt, Adrienne Horn, and Madalyn Horn. Also surviving are his precious dog, April and special friends; Lou Penna, Ray Trembly, Sonny Riazzi, and Jim Galvin. Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Friday from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and are invited there on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. for the funeral service.
