Obituary of Cecil Cundy

Cecil A. Cundy, age 66, of Lake City, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, February 1, 2014 at Fairview Manor. He was born on January 7, 1948 in Deadwood, SD at St. Joseph Hospital the son of the late, Henry and Amie D. Rice Cundy.
He graduated eighth out of eight hundred students at Natrona Co. High School in Casper, WY in 1966 where he also was a National Merit Letter of Commendation awardee. In 1973, Cecil received his Bachelor's Degree in Economics and in 1976 he received his juris-doctorate both at the University of Wyoming. He was a member of Phi Beta Kappa in the College of Arts and Sciences. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam era from 1969-1971.
Cecil was a member of the Wyoming State Bar, the University of WY Alumni Association, participated in the creation of the Crook Co., WY Hospital District, and was a supporter of the Crook Co. Lodging Tax. He was a staunch Democrat who supported many state candidates; running for the state legislature himself in 1976 from Campbell Co., WY. He was the Crook Co. Attorney from 1985-1990 and was a participant in the Sundance Chamber of Commerce. He loved Sundance Mountain and enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, swimming, golfing; since he was very athletically inclined.
Cecil is survived by his wife of twenty-nine years, Elizabeth A. Kitza Cundy, six children: Lisa, Laura, Carla, Michael, Dylan, and Bryan Cundy, two sisters; Kathryn Kudlock (Phillip) of Newcastle, WY, Marilyn Hess (Ronald) of Homer, Alaska, four brothers: Walter (Betty) of Hulett, WY and Mesa, AZ, Leslie of Gillette, WY, Arthur (Alice) of Rozet, WY, Henry Cundy of Casper, WY, many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by two sisters; Ellen Roadifer, Patricia Hill, four brothers: Harold, Robert, Lyle, and Warren George Cundy.
Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. until time of Memorial Service there at 7:00 p.m. Private inurnment. Memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of the funeral home.
