Obituary of Jeffry Nowosielski

Jeffry M. Nowosielski, 58 year old son of Edward J. Nowosielski and the late Theresa Slomski Nowosielski, died from cancer on March 19, 2014 at the Erie Veterans Affairs Medical Ctr. with his family at his bedside. He was born in Erie on September 9, 1955.
Jeff graduated from Tech Memorial H.S., had a certificate in architectural drafting and received degrees in Engineering & Environmental Technology and Mechanical Engineering Technology from Penn State University. He was honorably discharged from the US Army in 1979 and was awarded the Natl. Defense Service Medal and the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal (Korea). Jeff was a member of St. Hedwig Catholic Church. His employment history includes the PA Dept. of Transportation (Franklin, PA); LR Kimball (Ebensburg, PA); GAI, Inc. (Monroeville, PA); and most recently Erie Bookstore, Rainbow Connection, and Natl. Logistics Network. Jeff was an avid reader and enjoyed weight lifting, motorcycling, and traveling.
In addition to his father, Jeff is survived by four sisters: Theresa (Terri) Dobson (George) of Erie, Rebecca (Becky) Goss (Steve) of Fairview, Dianne Tharp (Joseph) of Riverview, FL, and Lisa McCarthy (Sam) of Lakewood, CA, one brother, Brian Nowosielski (Sherry) of Erie, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers; David and infant Matthew Nowosielski.
Jeff selflessly enrolled in the Humanity Gifts Registry of PA and donated his body to further medical education and research in the state.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Veterans Administration Hospice, c/o Veterans Affairs Medical Ctr., 135 East 38th Street, Erie, PA 16504 or St. Hedwig R.C. Church, 521 East 3rd Street, Erie, PA 16507. Private services under the direction of the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. were held for the immediate family. May he rest in peace.
