Obituary of John Balogh

John J. Balogh, age 75, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 4, 2014, six days before his 76th birthday, following a lengthy illness. He had been an employee at Hamilton Lumber in the warehouse for twenty years prior to becoming ill. John's passion was cars. He loved the 1940 Ford Deluxe Coupe the most. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Margaret (Lanagan) Balogh, his brother, Charles Balogh, and granddaughter, Melissa Phipps. He is survived by his wife, Ruth (LaQue) Balogh, sons; Robert Balogh (Sherry), Timothy Balogh (Deborah), grandsons: John Balogh (Katelyn), Luke Conroe, Matthew McLaughlin, and Christopher Phipps, granddaughters; Amanda McLaughlin (fiancé, Josh Weiner) and Amber Phipps. He is also survived by brothers; Steven Balogh and Patrick Balogh (Barbara), one sister, Joyce Bliss (Gary), seven great-grandchildren, and his brother-in-law, Thomas LaQue. He also leaves behind many life-long loyal friends who were so good to him. The family is grateful to the kindness of the staff and friends at Fairview Manor who were with John in his last years. They too, were like family. Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Sunday, April 13, 2014 from 9:30 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. A prayer service will begin at 10:00 a.m. by Pastor David McIlvried.
