Obituary of Mary Kader

Mary "Mikey" L. Zimmerman Kader, age 91, of Millcreek Twp., passed away on Saturday, May 17, 2014 at Manchester Commons. She was born on December 7, 1922 in DuBois, PA, the daughter of the late Robert and Evelyn Holland Zimmerman. She had resided in Erie most of her life. She was a member of Lakewood United Methodist Church and a life member of the Zukor Club Auxiliary. She was employed at the Erie Court House for twelve years retiring in 1989. Mikey enjoyed knitting, crocheting, reading, going to the Casino, and spending time with her family. Mikey was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Kader, five sisters: Lorraine Zimmerman, Dorothy Merker, Edith Picheco, Ann Kennedy, Alice Amon, and one brother, Leon "Bob" Zimmerman. She is survived by one sister-in-law, Gladys Zimmerman of Erie, many special nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. until time of service there at 2:00 p.m. conducted by her nephew, Rev. Thomas Kennedy. Interment Laurel Hill Cemetery. The family would like to thank the nurses and aides at Manchester Commons for their care of Mikey over the past two years.
