Obituary of Wanda Bocianowski

Please share a memory of Wanda to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Wanda Bocianowski, age 95, beloved mother of Wanda Anderson Salvia (Anthony), left this life to be with her Heavenly Father on March 3, 2014. Wanda had lived with her adored daughter and son-in-law for the last several years before a significant stroke in late August, 2013 necessitated her residing on the skilled nursing unit at Sarah A. Reed Retirement Center. Wanda is also survived by her much loved grandchildren: Elena Salvia (Rick Kerr), A. David Salvia (Melissa) and Elise Salvia Michaelson along with her beloved great- Grandchildren: Abby Kerr Nelson (Matt), Ryan Kerr, Andrew Mackowski (Courtney), Christine Mackowski (fiance' Quinn Cherner), Kevin Kerr, Daniel David Salvia along with her great-great granddaughter Alexis (Lexi) Boyer. Wanda is also survived by her sister-in-law Helen Zielinski, nieces: Sandy Pifer, Phyllis Crabtree (Jim), Nancy Hodas (Frank), Nancy Lozowski, nephews Peter Zielinski (Val Crowfoot) and Tom Zielinski (Sharon). Wanda's dear little dog Buddy with whom she spent countless hours of love and cuddling, also survives her. Wanda will be sadly missed by all, but we know with certainty that she has gone to a much better place. Wanda was preceded in death by her parents Peter and Josephine Pietras Zielinski, her sisters; Betty Rust and Josephine Diemert and her brother Peter Zielinski, her first husband Earl K. Anderson, her second husband Walter Bocianowski, and her nephew Julian (Bud) Lozowski. She was also preceded in death by her first grandchild, Gregory Peter Salvia. Wanda loved being with her family and could not do enough for any of them; they were the absolute center of her life. She was well known for being a fabulous maker of peanut butter-chocolate fudge and was "famous" for her home baked pies. People would often say her gifts of her raisin pies, apple pies, lemon meringue pies, peach pies and strawberry pies were the best they had ever tasted. She was a very fastidious and hard-working person and up to age 92, she delighted in taking care of their home, cooking and baking, keeping up her garden and her roses and driving her own car to visit her family. She was an avid reader and loved to watch and "participate" in Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. Wanda loved all animals. Wanda's viewing will be held at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Road on Wednesday, March 5th from 2:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. and from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Family and friends are also invited to attend a prayer service there on Thursday, March 6th at 9:15 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, celebrated by Rev. Michael Polinek, at St. George R.C. Church, 5145 Peach Street at 10:00 a.m. with burial following at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Stanislaus R.C. Church, 516 East 13 Street, Erie, PA 16503; St. George R.C. Church, 5145 Peach Street, Erie, PA 16509, the A.N.N.A. Shelter, 1555 East 10 Street, Erie, PA 16511, the Sarah A.
