Elizabeth "Betty" M. Jackowski, age 90, of Erie, passed away Monday, February 10, 2014 at St. Mary's at Asbury Ridge. She was born in Pittsburgh, PA on March 23, 1923, the daughter of the late Michael and Mary Weselovec Klipsic, of South Side, Pittsburgh. Betty had been an Erie area resident since 2003 and was employed at JC Penney. She was a member of St. Catherine of Sienna Church and enjoyed gardening, sewing, painting, and crafts. She was a huge Steelers fan. Elizabeth (Betty) was a gentle, kind and caring wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who was an enthusiastic member of the "Greatest Generation". Her love was deep and true to all. "Betty" is now forever happy and has joined her true love, "Walt." Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Walter S. Jackowski, two brothers; Paul and Tony Klipsic, and two sisters; Rose Tennies and Helen Lowe. She is survived by five children: son, David Jackowski and Helen (Erie), grandchildren: David and Alyssa Jackowski (NYC), Ashleigh and Dante Spain (Roanoke, VA), Christina and Brendan Bosco (Ft. Worth, TX), and Kathleen (Erie), son, Gary Jackowski and Gloria (Erie), grandchildren; Joshua and Sean Jackowski (Erie), daughter, Michelle and Richard Whalen (Butler, PA), grandchildren, Andrew and Gulyuza Whalen (Pittsburgh), Alissa and Chip Hart (Frederick, MD), son, Paul and Gretchen Jackowski (Coraopolis, PA), grandchildren, Brian and Timothy Jackowski, daughter, Nadine and Michael Englehardt (Pittsburgh), grandchildren; Michael, Meghan, and Julia Englehardt (Pittsburgh), also seven great-grandchildren, and one brother, Walter Klipsic of Pittsburgh.
