Obituary of Mary Silverthorn

Mary Lou Waldinger Silverthorn, age 79, of Millcreek Twp., went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, May 31, 2014 at Golden Living-Walnut Creek after a brief illness. She was born in Erie on August 26, 1934, the daughter of the late Richard and Margaret Behringer Waldinger. She was a life-long Erie resident except for a short time in Tujunga, CA from 1959-1962. She was a homemaker and loved doing so much for her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Mary enjoyed gardening, crafts, and home decorating. She was preceded in death by one son, Lee Burton Silverthorn, Jr. in 2008 and one brother, Richard Waldinger. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Lee Burton Silverthorn, Sr., one daughter, Ann Marie Silverthorn (James DeDad) of Millcreek, one son, Mart Steven Silverthorn (Fran) of Millcreek, two sisters; Doris Fisher Hinkler (Bob) of Lawrence Park, Marge Lindell of Florence, OR, one brother, Thomas Waldinger (Carole) of Holley, NY, five grandchildren: Daniel Silverthorn, James Silverthorn (Dawn), Krista Liberatore (Robert), Kasey DeDad, Michael DeDad (Emily), three great-grandchildren; Theodore, Evan, and Lee III. Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Monday, June 2 (today) from 4 until 8 p.m. and are invited there on Tuesday, June 3 for prayers at 9:30 a.m. followed by a burial Mass at Our Lady of Peace R.C. Church, 2401 West 38th Street at 10:00 a.m. Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery
