Eleanor A. Wolf Burnett

Eleanor A. Burnett, age 91, of Erie, died Saturday, October 29, 2011 at St. Vincent Health Center. She was born in Erie on June 3, 1920, the daughter of the late Raymond L. Wolf and Julia Gdanetz Wolf Haley. She was a former member of St. Peter and Paul Byzantine Church. She enjoyed knitting hats for premature babies, gardening, watching birds, reading Christmas stories, and sending her Guardian Angel on missions.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Lawrence L. Burnett, one son, Lawrence C. Burnett, one daughter, Lisa M. Burnett, three brothers: Herman, Conrad (Elsie), and Edwin Wolfe, and two half brothers.

She is survived by two daughters; Sister Sylvia Burnett OSBM of Girard, Gloria Burnett, RN, of Erie, one son, John F. Burnett (Barbara) of Erie, five grandchildren: Andrea McQuaid, Daniel and Rachel Burnett, Alesia and Justin Blum, four great-grandchildren, Teaghen, Kyla, Maebry, and Mason McQuaid, one sister-in-law; Marguerite Wolfe, and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Wednesday from 2 to 5 and 7 until time of Panachida Prayer Service at 8:30 p.m. conducted by the Rev. Robert J. Karl. Further visitation on Thursday at St. Mary's East, 607 East 26th Street, from 10:30 a.m. until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. conducted by the Rev. Christopher Singer. Interment Laurel Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Sisters of Mercy Ministry, 444 East Grandview Blvd., Erie, PA 16504 or to the Sisters of St. Basil the Great, 500 West Main St., Uniontown, PA 15401.
