Obituary of Scott Smith

Scott E. Smith, age 54, of East Springfield, went home to be with his loving Father on Tuesday, July 8, 2014 surrounded by his loving family at the Erie Veteran's Affairs Medical Center. He was born on November 5, 1959, the son of Lucinda "Cindy" M. Shaw Smith of McKean and the late Eugene "Gene" H. Smith, who passed away on June 16, 2014. Scott was a 1979 graduate of General McLane H.S. and received his Associate's Degree in Electrical Engineering in 2001. Scott served in the US Army from 1980-1991 as a diesel and track mechanic and a MP. Scott was employed at Electrical Repair Technology. He loved hunting, fishing, camping, reading, art, and simply being in the outdoors. He was very creative and inventive. Scott is survived by his wife of 32 years, Deborah "Debbie" L. Gentile Smith, one daughter, Dana L. Smith (Thomas W. Steere) of Joplin, Missouri, one son, Jason C. Smith of East Springfield, one sister, Sandra E. Smith Hultberg (Wayne Bowersox, Jr.) of Erie, one brother, Stuart E. Smith (Sherry) of Pueblo West, CO, special friends; Karen and Jason Keefer of Union City and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Jennifier Rose Smith. Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Friday from 4 p.m. until prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Private interment. Memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of the funeral home.
