Obituary of Mary Kreider

Mary B. Cuneo Kreider, age 63, of Edinboro, passed away at her residence on Tuesday, July 22, 2014 surrounded by her loving family, after a long six year battle with ovarian cancer; during which she proved time and time again she wasn't done fighting. Mary was born on May 4, 1951 in St. Mary's, PA to the late William F. and Betty J. Matthews Cuneo. Mary was an employee of the Asbury Rd. Lowes from 2004 until her retirement in January 2014. She loved her co-workers and her employer.
She was a team captain for the Relay for Life team, "The Cruizers" until 2013 when she passed the team over to her daughter. She loved gardening, being outdoors, going to local fairs, and horse shows with her husband. Mary was an avid Toby Keith fan and met him in 2007.
Mary loved being with her family and is survived by her husband of 14 years, Richard "Rick" Kreider whom she married on July 15, 2000. Rick was the love of her life, her best friend, and rock. Also surviving are two children; Adrianne "A.D. Dawn" DeLong (Christopher), Justin Snyder (Alicia Stephenson), step-daughter, Sara Wurst (Nathan), and one sister, Linda Gehrlein (James R.) of Ft. Myers, FL.
Mary always wanted to be a grandmother and was blessed with a grandson, Owen DeLong, and step-grandchildren; Austin Voelker and Katrina Kreider. Mary also leaves behind special high school friends; Mary Kay Barzano and Marcia Montgomery, also longtime friends; Linda Shaffer, Vernetta Ross, Peggy Sutch and her daughter, Kim.
Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania RD. on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until time of funeral service there at 7:00 p.m. conducted by the Rev. Dan Hoffman. Private interment.
Mary's family would like to send their gratitude and thanks to Great Lakes Hospice, nurse, Janet, for giving such great care.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Great Lakes Hospice, 1700 Peach Street, Erie, PA 16501, or donations of time or money (gift card from a grocery store, department store, gas card made out to a person you know battling cancer to help their family in this financially and emotionally draining time). Please do this in lieu of a donation to the American Cancer Society where it will have a more positive impact.
