Obituary of David Johnson

Please share a memory of David to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
David "DJ" M. Johnson, age 53 of Millcreek Township, passed away tragically in a motorcycle accident on Wednesday, August 27, 2014. He was born on September 11, 1960, in Erie, PA, son of the late James J. and Rachel Johnson. David had a zest for life. He was a one-of-a-kind person, and knew someone everywhere he went. He could drive a hard bargain, but had an incredible soft spot for anyone he loved and cared about. He was faithfully employed at Dave Hallman Chevrolet for 25 years. David was a parishioner at St. Luke Catholic Church, and was an active member of the Siebenbuerger Club and the Maennerchor Club. Above all else, David cherished time with his family. He enjoyed 4-wheeling with his three sons, bonding over time camping, and spending the summer months on his motorcycle. He loved spending time on his John Deere tractor with his grandson and his love for anything with a motor was infectious to his sons. He was an avid watch collector and car enthusiast. While his daughters were growing up, you would never miss him in the stands at one of their ice-skating shows or cheerleading competitions. His wife, best friend and love of his life was faithfully beside him through all of the families best memories together. His proudest and greatest accomplishment in life was the success of all 5 of his children and he talked about them nonstop; he loved being a papa and adored his two grandchildren. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his niece, Jennifer R. Johnson. He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Catherine M. Juhasz Johnson, and their 5 children: Michelle K. Schriefer (Kyle) and their children Trent and Raegan of Fayetteville, NC; Rachelle A. Martin (Alex) of Millcreek Township; David M. Johnson, Jr., Brandon T. Johnson, and Kyle N. Johnson, all of Millcreek Township. Also survived by his four brothers: James Johnson Jr. (Bonnie) of McKean Township; Gary T. Johnson (Sharon) of Erie; Brian S. Johnson (Diane) of Millcreek Township; Donny S. Johnson (Susan) of Millcreek Township; Sister in Law Sibylle Freiwald (Jerry) of Phoenix, AZ, and Brother in law Franz Juhasz (Tammy) of Phoenix, AZ. , and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
