Obituary of Nola Samsel

Nola M. Shaffer Samsel, age 87, of Millcreek Twp., passed away Wednesday, September 10, 2014. She was born in New Bethlehem, PA on September 24, 1926, the daughter of the late Grant C. and Lillian I. Schilling Shaffer. She was a graduate of Erie Commercial College. Nola was a secretary to the sales manager at Hayes Mfg. Co. for eleven years. After that, she was a sales rep. for Beeline Fashions for twenty five years. Nola enjoyed playing cards, going out for lunch with her friends, and going to garage sales. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church and belonged to Asbury Senior Citizens. Nola was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Samsel, one brother, Ray Shaffer, one sister, Cora Martz and her husband, Robert Martz. Nola is survived by one son, David Samsel (Pam) of McKean Twp., one brother, Cecil Shaffer (Marie) of Berwick, PA, two sisters; Willovene Shumaker (Cromer) and Mable McMaster (Ronald), a sister-in-law, Jane Shaffer, all of New Bethlehem, PA and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Sunday, September 14, 2014 from 4:30 pm. until 7:00 p.m. and are invited there on Monday for the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Private interment Laurel Hill Cemetery.
