Obituary of Betty Milner

Betty Milner, age 87, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 20, 2014. Betty was born on November 20, 1926 to the late Robert and Jane Caufman Platz. She graduated from Academy H.S. in 1944. After graduation, she worked at American Hollow Boring Co. Following that job, she worked for many years for Streeter Sales Co. and then for Country Fair Corporate Office.
Betty enjoyed reading and word puzzles, animals, and going for rides with her friends Judy and Fred. She and her daughter could always laugh together and she especially enjoyed their annual Easter bonnet competition.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant son; her brother, Kenneth R. Platz; and many beloved pets.
Betty is survived by her beloved daughter and son-in-law, Melanie and Gary Hoitinga; several nieces; and her devoted friend, Judy Baginski.
Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Tuesday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 8 p.m. Private services and interment Laurel Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the ANNA Shelter, 1555 East 10th Street, Erie, PA 16511 or to Orphan Angels Cat Sanctuary, 5439 West Lake Rd., Erie, PA 16505.
