Obituary of Kathryn Protyniak

Kathryn "Elaine" Protyniak, age 72, of Millcreek Twp., passed away Wednesday, October 15, 2014 after an extended illness at UPMC-Hamot surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Homestead, PA on December 18, 1941, the daughter of Helen Protyniak of Millcreek and the late Steve Protyniak. Elaine loved to read, was very spiritual, and enjoyed her career as a real estate agent. She is survived by her significant other of 37 years, Pasquale "Pat" Pavia, two children; Evan Claudio (Mary) of Erie, Stefanie Claudio of FL, one sister, Andrea Spierling (Bill) of Erie, three grandchildren: Raevan Gregson, Eliza and Arden Claudio, and one great grandson, Mylo Gregson. A flash of brightness in the Universe, a quip of laughter throughout the heavens. A grandmother, mother, daughter, sister, a lover, partner, and best friend. An amazing woman, Kathryn Elaine…we will all miss you. Thank you for touching our lives in the most special way. We will carry your spirit with us and continue to share it with all. You are our Angel now (Love and Light). Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until time of funeral service there at 4:00 p.m. Private interment.
