Obituary of Frederick Schlosser

Frederick "Fred" J. Schlosser, age 87, of Erie, passed away after a brief illness on Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at Millcreek Community Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Meadville, PA on February 6, 1927 the son of the late John C. and Helen W. Rush Schlosser.
Fred served in the US Army during WWII.
Fred was employed at and a partner of Kuneman & Schlosser Masonry Contractors.
He was a member of and served as Past Master of Tyrian-Commonwealth Lodge No. 362 F. & A.M., Past Thrice Potent Master of Valley of Erie Scottish Rite, Past High Priest of Temple Royal Arch Chapter No. 215, Past Thrice Illustrious Master of Jerusalem Council No. 33, Past Commander of Mt. Olivet Commandery No. 30, Past Governor of Golden Triangle York Rite College No. 5, Past Sovereign of St. John's Conclave Red Cross of Constantine, Past Excellent Chief of Gateway to the West Council No. 5 Knight Masons, was a member of Zem Zem Shrine, Keystone Priory No. 26 Knights of the York Cross of Honour, Richard Monroe Bard York Rite College No. 204, received the Order of the Purple Cross (the highest honor of the York Rite College), and was a life member of the Siebenbuerger Club.
Fred enjoyed flying small aircraft and relaxing at his cottage at Canadohta Lake. He was preceded in death by his wife, W. Dorothy Schlosser in 2012 and one sister Barbara Schlosser.
Fred is survived by one daughter Carol D. Panitzke (Chris T.) of Erie, and one grandson Zachary A. Panitzke of Fairfax, VA.
Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Friday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. (a Masonic Service conducted by his son-in-law of the Tyrian Commonwealth Lodge #362 will be held at 7:30 p.m.) and are invited there on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. for the funeral service conducted by the Rev. David McIlvried. Interment Laurel Hill Cemetery.
