Obituary of Marie Roberts

Marie L. Jones Roberts, age 91, of Millcreek Twp., passed away on Sunday, October 26, 2014 at her residence after a lengthy illness. She was born on September 1, 1923 in Schenectady, NY, the daughter of the late Margaret Hines Colson and step-father, August S. Colson. She was employed at General Electric in Schenectady, NY. She was a member of St. Joseph Church Bread of Life Community and enjoyed reading, cooking, old movies, and music. She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Donald Walter Roberts. Marie is survived by her children: Richard A. Roberts of San Jose Del Cabo, Mexico, Nancy E. Phillips (Joseph) of Millcreek, Michael A. Roberts (Karen) of Aberdeen, Scotland, Margaret M. Eisert (Michael) of Millcreek, Thomas Patrick Roberts of Millcreek, one sister, Margaret M. Sturgis of Schenectady, NY, one beloved cousin Fra. Hugh Francis Hines, OFM of Boston, MA, one brother, Richard L. Jones (Mary) of Schenectady, NY, grandchildren: Conor James Donald Roberts of Aberdeen, Scotland, Kieron P. Bell of Aberdeen, Scotland, Gregory Michael Eisert of Millcreek, Roger G. Fezenko (April) of Poconos, PA, great-grandson, Matthew Fezenko of Poconos, PA, several nieces and nephews, and caregiver and special friend, Kim Simpson (like a daughter) of Millcreek. A Memorial Service will be held at the convenience of the family in Schenectady, NY. Local arrangements are being handled by the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Bayfront Maritime Center, 40 Holland St., Erie, PA 16507, allocate to "EASE", Erie Adaptive Sailing Experience for individuals with special needs, in memory of Marie Roberts.
